Technologies

AMS is experienced in a variety of assembly technologies. We apply proven tools and technologies to solve challenging applications. Learn about some of the technologiese AMS has utilized by clicking on a subject below.

Clip Installation – Semi-automated equipment used to install metal clips on automotive interior plastic door panels, bezels, quarter panels, knee bolsters, pillars, and other interior trim components.

Ultrasonic Plastic Welding – High-frequency vibrations applied to thermoplastic parts being held together under pressure to create a permanent bond at their interface.

Ultrasonic Plastic Staking – Ultrasonic staking is the process of reforming a protruding plastic stud or hollow boss in order to lock, or sandwich, another component of the assembly in place.

Thermal Plastic Staking – Heat staking reforms a protruding plastic stud or hollow boss in order to lock another component of the assembly in place.

Spin Welding – Spin welding uses heat generated by the friction between two thermoplastic parts when one is held stationary as the other is rotated against it while under pressure to create a permanent bond at their interface.
